Purchasing planner

A procurement planner is a professional responsible for the full process planning and strategy formulation of corporate procurement activities. The core of their role to reduce procurement costs, optimize supply chain efficiency, and ensure the quality and timeliness of purchased materials through scientific planning.

 

Main Job Responsibilities

 

- Procure Demand Analysis: Liaise with various departments within the company to sort out procurement needs, clarify key information such as material specifications, quantities, and time nodes, and set procurement.

- Procurement Strategy Formulation: Based on the characteristics of demand (e.g., type of materials, volume of purchase, market conditions, etc., choose the appropriate procurement method (e.g., bidding, inquiry, competitive negotiation, etc.), design the procurement process and contract terms.

- Supplier Management Screen and evaluate potential suppliers, establish a supplier database, maintain cooperative relationships, negotiate prices and service terms, and promote supply chain stability.

- Cost Control and Risk Prevention: Analy market price trends, set cost control goals, identify risks in the procurement process (e.g., supply disruption, quality issues, etc.) and develop response plans.

 Procurement Implementation and Optimization: Supervise the implementation of the procurement process, track order progress, coordinate logistics and acceptance, summarize procurement data after the event, and optimize subsequent schemes.

 

Required Skills and Qualities

 

- Solid knowledge of procurement management, familiar with relevant laws and regulations (such as bidding laws) and industry procurement standards.

 Strong market analysis ability and negotiation skills, able to accurately grasp price dynamics and supplier psychology.

- Good communication and coordination skills, able to efficiently connect with internal departments and external.

- Rigorous and meticulous in work, with a strong sense of cost and risk prevention thinking, able to adapt to the pace of multitasking.

 

Procment planners play an important role in reducing costs and increasing efficiency in corporate production and operations, especially in large companies or industries with complex supply chains
