Freight Forwarder

Freight forwarders are professionals engaged in international and domestic cargo transportation agency services, mainly responsible for coordinating the entire process from the shipper to the consignee, ensuring that goods are delivered to the destination safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. They act as a bridge between owners and transport providers (such as airlines, shipping lines, logistics companies, etc.), playing a key role in international trade and logistics.

 

Main Job Responsibilities

1. Business Interface and Program Design

Communicate with cargo owners to understand their needs, including cargo types (e.g., general cargo, dangerous goods, cold chain cargo etc.), transportation time limits, budgets, etc., and develop the optimal transportation plan (including the choice of transportation mode: ocean, air, land, intermodal,.).

2. Document Processing and Compliance Operations

Responsible for handling various documents required for cargo transportation, such as customs declarations, inspection declarations, bills ofading, packing lists, commercial invoices, etc., ensuring compliance with the customs, quarantine, and other regulatory requirements of the importing and exporting countries.

3 Transport Coordination

Interface with carriers (shipping lines, airlines, fleets, etc.), arrange for booking, loading, warehousing, loading and unloading, etc, track the status of cargo transportation, and deal with any abnormalities during transportation (such as delays, damage, etc.) in a timely manner.

4. Cost Cal and Settlement

Calculate various costs such as transportation, customs clearance, insurance, etc., and communicate with cargo owners and carriers to handle settlement matters, ensuring clear and accurate.

5. Risk Control

Assess risks during the transportation process (such as policy changes, weather impacts, logistics disruptions, etc.), assist cargo owners in handling transportation insurance, and reduce the risk of loss.

 

Core Competency Requirements

 

- Professional Knowledge: Familiar with international trade rules, logistics transportation processes, customs regulations, document making, and other professional knowledge.

- Communication and Coordination Skills: Need to communicate with cargo owners, carriers, customs, and other parties to coordinate resources.

-ail Control Ability: The processing of documents, compliance operations, and other links have extremely high requirements for details, and omissions must be avoided.

- Problem Solving Ab: Be able to quickly respond to emergencies during transportation (such as customs clearance blockages, cargo loss, etc.).

- Language Ability: International freight forwarders need have certain language capabilities (such as English) to handle foreign language documents and international communication.
